Metricath® is Neovasc's patented, catheter-based technology used to take precise measurements of arteries and stented vessels in cardiovascular and peripheral intravascular procedures. The company is also investigating other applications for Metricath, including to assist in the sizing and placement of percutaneous aortic valves.
Metricath quickly, precisely and inexpensively measures arterial reference vessel diameter or in-stent luminal diameter and cross-sectional area, to aid in appropriate device size selection and to verify optimal stent deployment.
Metricath was developed in response to the limitations of existing vascular measurement technologies, which either are not sufficiently precise or are prohibitively expensive and time-consuming to gain widespread acceptance.
Metricath is U.S. FDA cleared, CE Marked & Health Canada Licenced.
